_Book and Media Sale FAQ
Where do the books and media come from?
Our items are donated by our members, and the community at large - people like YOU! We will be accepting donations primarily a month or two before the sale, but can accept them at any time. Please see the home page for information on how to donate.
What kinds of books and media will you have?
All kinds. Though we can't predict exactly what donations we'll receive, you can expect a wide variety of nonfiction and fiction books - from cookbooks to children's books, science fiction to poetry, biography to modern fiction. You can also expect a good selection of paperback fiction, how-to books, and unusual out-of-print books. We may choose to pull out some special books and price them individually, if donations merit.
What should I expect on the Preview Night Sale?
Book sales are popular events, and many people attend the first night to get "first pick." First, plan on arriving early - there is usually a line well before most preview sales open. There will be room to line up indoors, out of the elements. Please do NOT bring in strollers - space is limited, and the sale will likely be crowded.
We are not charging an admission fee on Preview Night, but do ask you to consider making a donation of an amount of your choosing.
We will have volunteers available to bring your bags or containers to a secure "hold" area so you can continue to shop uninterrupted. We will tally up the contents while you shop to expedite check out.
Is there parking available?
There is free parking to the side of the building. There is easy same-floor access (no steps) through the door in the front of the building. The sale is handicapped accessible.
Is there a book sale etiquette?
Yes! To make the sale enjoyable for everyone involved, we ask you:
We will do everything possible to make your shopping experience a pleasant one. Please remember this sale is staffed by volunteers, and is a fund-raising event.
